[SOLVED] Artificial Snow Biome Not Working
I've been trying to make an artificial snow biome for the Mechanic and Tax Collector (the natural one was generated with Corruption and although I cleansed it I'm not risking the comeback of Corruption over time) but no matter how big I make it, it doesn't register as a snow biome. I've used over 1620 snow and ice blocks each and I'm honestly about to give up trying. What am I doing wrong? How can I successfully make a snow biome?

I'm honestly losing my mind.

I made my artificial Snow Biome in the air after the Hardmode "V" (the Corruption, specifically) ruined my grounded settlement, 1.4 jacked up the block requirements for creating biomes immensely for some reason. I can't see any reason for it other than you being too far from some blocks, which might happen if your biome has significantly more length than width, try condensing it if you haven't already.

another bullet to add to the list of downsides of 1.4

I'll try making giving it more depth than length then. I don't know how I'd be too far from some block though. Hoping it'll work regardless.

The blocks all have to be in a certain range to you. Making a long walkway of 1600 blocks does not work.
You have to have 1500 blocks placed up to 81 blocks left or right from your position, 61 above and 64 beyond you.

Ah... Well that's gonna take a while to fix now that I know lmao. I've never had this issue before with other biomes I've made. Makes sense though... I pray the struggle will pay off.

My personal rule is 400 blocks attributed to that biome specifically, 100 blocks long and 4 blocks high. That's always worked for me. It gave me my Hallowed desert.

Also make sure the biome isn't close to corruption or crimson.

and not too high in the air

No other biome requires that many blocks. All of them are in the allowed range to you.

Those two are sompletely redundant comments. You can make a Tundra in the sky and in a corruption or crimson biome.

im strugling with this as well, i builded at high of 500 from the ground, 300 blocks long and 5 high, and it did not work, fk that biome

Solved this issue finally! Adding more blocks to depth rather than length was the solution. I added a bunch of ice and snow piled around on the ground or houses and I even added a "roof" to the biome to help get it working. Now it's working just fine! Thanks everyone!

Yeah, I had to use over two stacks of snow and ice just to add "thickness" to the biome to make it work. It was a hassle but it's worth it. I made mine about 200 blocks long, 4 blocks thick on the ground, roof and walls (I added two walls and a roof to avoid the NPCs just falling off because they kept committing die) and just piled up leftover snow and ice on the houses and corners. It took ages but at least it's working now.
