Calamity mod install help

Hey everyone. i Really want to get the calamity mod but i dont know how to install mods i=or if i need tmodloader. and if i did need tmod i dont know how to use it or install it.

installing tmodloader is simple, just go to their page and follow the instructions

if i recall correctly it's as simple as extracting a folder and double clicking the installer

First, you have to get TModLoader, which you can download from this post: https://forums.terraria.org/index.php?threads/1-3-tmodloader-a-modding-api.23726/ (You'll need a program capable of opening .zip files, such as WinRar)

After you have downloaded it, you can either extract the contents of the .zip to a folder and run the java executable or extract everything from the folder to your Terraria folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Terraria by default)

Now that you have TModLoader installed, boot up Terraria like normal and wait for it to load. You'll notice a that few new buttons have appeared, click "Mod Browser". From there, click on the search bar at the top right of the window and search "Calamity", and download the only mod with the thumbnail.

From there, go back to the main menu, click on "Mods", click "Enable" on Calamity, click "Reload Mods" and you're ready to go! ^^

Just as a side-note, I recommend getting a recipe browser mod too, as Calamity has A LOT of really complicated crafting trees.

Wow, way to necro a post. We've been told DOZENS of times now that mod support will take a while to catch up to the main build, assuming you're using the tmodloader DLC just download calamity and any dependencies from the mod browser.

And no, you can't just try and install tmodloader into the latest version of terraria, it's not supported yet and you WILL break your installation.

well you can if your planning on running terraria on the older version to run the 64 bit tmodloader
