Does anyone remember when they announced a Terraria 2? Not Otherworld
I tried to get some speculation going on the official reddit but of course the admins were toxic (apparently speculation is off limits). Terraria 2 was announced way back around the same time Otherworld was and talked about "infinite worlds", it even has its own wiki. Seems as if Otherworld getting canceled kind of buried anything Terraria 2 related since its the only thing that comes up when you search for the sequel (probably because most people assumed that it was the sequel)

I also warned the devs about continuing other world but they ignored everything I said as usual.

2 years after I explained why they should scrap it and start fresh they announced they were scrapping it.

If you would like information regarding what happened let me know and I'll explain further.

As far as T2 is concerned there has been absolutely no information regarding this obvious logical progression forward.

1.) Did you present reasonable evidence why they should cancel; Why should they care about your opinion when they consider the entire community plus their own goals?

2.) Choosing to discard a project 2 years later can be attributed to reasons which could have nothing to do with what you'd said.

3.) How is moving forward with a second title the logical progression? Because other games do it? Are you trying to express that because previous trends show corporations releasing sequels to their titles, that this must remain true?

... None of what you say makes sense... Maybe it does to you but obviously not to the developers. If this is the way you express yourself, it's easy to see why (regardless of whether or not you're correct; it seems dubious on whether you are or not here) they disregarded a single posters opinion.
Can we go back to Terraria now?

As someone who has crap ton of hours in Terraria I wouldn't mind a sequel. I mean updates are cool and all but I don't see any upcoming updates adding anything thats super new in concept, different colored blocks, a new boss, and a mount that goes faster than the current fasest mount, maybe a silly weapon thats a reference to something. I personally would just like to see something we haven't seen before, the infinite worlds thing had me pondering for quite some time. Maybe it means that its procedurally generated? I've heard theories that there would be multiple layers you could swap from like foreground and background areas which doesn't sound too apealing but at the same time who knows really. But then again I've heard the argument "why make another game when they could just keep updating their current one" because theres an aspect of laziness when it comes to something like that, why not but forth a little risk and investment into someting new, at this point they've probably gotten a lot better at programing and starting over from the ground up could probably make something similar yet in countless ways better.
tl;dr
what do you think infinite worlds could mean? I think a sequel should be made, they got so much experience and funds from Terraria they could experiment with new ideas and make something totally new and interesting.
