This theory takes into account the information given by Re-Logic

It all starts with the official Lore revealed this year for its 8th anniversary.

Where the beginnings of How? The multiverse was created or existed (read it)

Important:
According to the official Lore: The biomes of corruption crimson and hallow were created with the intention of maintaining a balance in the universes.
(Although these later became a threat to the world)

The story continues with the arrival of Chulhu: an extremely powerful being of unknown origin, with the intention of causing chaos in the universe (in our universe specifically last commented).

Who is Cthulhu?

La historia continua con la llegada Chulhu: un ser extremadamente poderoso de origen desconocido,con la intension de provocar caos en el universo(en nuestro universo especificamente por ultimo comentado).

Quien es Cthulhu?
Cthulhu es relato corto escrito por: H.P lovecraft en 1928,inspirado en en textos sagrados de hace mileños.

(Mi teoria es que como se garantiza la existencia del multiverso,este vino de uno muy lejos un universo diferente,uno que no fueron creados por "los antiguos dioses"lejos de gran universo Terraria...referencia al mundo real).

Las dryads (son las creadoras de los universos y los antiguos dioses en mi teoria)fueron las unicas capaces de derrotar casi por completo a Cthulhu sacandole los ojos,parte del cerebro y partes del esqueleto.

Llevando a Cthulhu, a esconderse en "el lado oculto de la luna" y las dryads no soportaron al final de la batalla,solo una sobrevivio,la cual esta "ausente hace años".

(Esta parte de la historia explica de donde salieron l diferentes jefes, como el ojo de Cthulhu,el cerebro de Cthulhu y Skeletron).

(Mi teoria dice que como Cthulhu estaba muy herido, Moon Lord, su hermano(dicho por Re-Logic) por intento de salvarlo y protegerlo, creoó una proteccion de la cual la vinculo con "Los mitos de Cthulhu"de Lovecraft.

Que dice que Cthulhu "despertara" o "Caerá" a nustro mundo, el dia que las "estrellas" se alinen a su favor(en el caso de Terraria,las lunas Stardust,Nebula,Solar and Vortex)( ya que el es el Moon Lord el tiene el control de esas lunas)Los mitos tambien aclaran que tiene otras creatura que le siguen(estas podrian ser los ejercitos de los pilares lunares).

pero el Moon Lord tambien fue derrotado por las dryads al intentar vengarse, ya igual que era mas debil que Cthulu,pero a este solo le pudieron sacar la mitad de su cuerpo, por el poco poder que les quedaba a las dryads(mi teroria es que el Moon Lord fue encerrado en una placa de oro,para que este no libere a cthulhu(tiempo que despues fue robado por el culto lunatico)))))).

El paso de los miles de años,la parte del cerebro de Cthulhu fue tomadó por el carmesi, convirtiendose en organo de poder y un arma inteligente..Por otro lado el ojo de Cthulhu se corrompió y se convirtió en un ser vivo peligroso.

Y por la guerra de hace mileños,surgio un culto lunatico, obsesionado con el poder de Cthulhu,llevando su obsesion a secuestrar a una "mecanica" para la creacion de simulaciones de las partes restantes del cuerpo mutilado de Cthulhu(Creando asi los jefes mecanicos)(aunque se cuenta tambien de un proyecto que nunca se empezó,hablando del "cerebro mecanico de cthulhu")en un enorme castillo(la mazmorra)esta fue maldecida por el culto para proteger sus acciones con esqueletos vivientes(que son gente que servía al castillo y gente exterior que fue sacrificada) y poniendo al mismisimo dueño del castillo como guardian de este castillo, usando como arma, la parte del esqueleto the cthulhu.

( No hablare del Devorador de mundos, ya que afecta en nada en la historia,solo en un ser que protege los orbes(sus huevos) y que su peste (o bioma)que arrasa con todo lo posible.

La raza de los lagartos del Tempo son solo seres conun coeficiente intelectual diferente o quizas mejor,capaces de crea un golem de piedra(Plantera es la protectora de la selva en un inicio pero despues se convirtio tambien en la protectora del templo, guadando la llave de este,en su cuerpo)
Los goblins son una raza mas,más concflictiva pero despues del"ultimo enfrentamiento,se entra en un acuerdo gracias un goblin aliado e inteligente.
El Duke Fish es un pez mutado que evolucionó por comer una trufa brillante.

La muralla de carne es un tema sensible(La teoria es que este fue miembro del culto lunatico , y al no gustarle lo que se hacia se fue, e intento eliminar todo lo que el culto hizo creando haci la muralla de carne con la enseñanzas del culto,encerrando a todos los seres poibles creados por ellos(y lo del muñeco vudú, se trata de que el hechizo a otro guia para tomara la responsabilidad de la muralla,sin que este la sepa(es mi explicacion del mensaje de que "eres una persona mala"(le habla al guia por no hacerse cargo de su creacion y matar a un inocente(esto puede ser mensaje al jugador por asesinar a un inocente).

El cultista lunatico le entrega mucho poder al medallon o placa de oro (que contiene al moon lord dentro)Este en un intento de eliminarte,rompio la placa de oro ó medallon y absorbió todo el poder del medallon(todo el poder del Moon Lord)Pero este al morir liberó al Moon Lord.
(El Moon Lord alineo las lunar,abriendo un portal para que Cthulhu vuelva, y abrindo paso al ejercito de las 4 lunas)
Unas vez los ejercitos derrotado,Moon Lord te atacará e intentara eliminarte para dejarle paso a Cthulhu..Pero este al ser derrotado, le cierra el paso a Cthulhu,dejandolo encerrado de por vida.
(En la teoria,gracias a la 1.3 puedo decir que esta aventura la llevan 4 protagonistas, (dando lugar a las "clases"(Rango,Warrior,Mage and Summoner).

Honestly, the lore on the hallow makes absolutely no sense. Hallow creatures do not attack corruption creatures, nor crimson. Only players and friendly npcs/critters. If anything they should be more interested in destroying crimson and corruption creatures over 'neutral' ones. I get being overzealous and singleminded on eradicating the infection to the point you are attacking friendly/harmless cells, but not when you ignore the infection and attack only the harmless cells.
