Best Mage Setup for Providence? (Calamity)
I've set up an arena as well as I can, I've gotten any weapon I know exists, and I still can't beat this thing. If anyone knows what the best weapons/accessories for Providence is I would greatly appreciate the knowledge. I also have Thorium, regular Alchemist NPC and wing slot (as well as other stuff that don't affect this). My setup currently is:

Armor: Astral

Accessories:

-Warding Deific Amulet

-Warding Seraph Tracers

-Warding Sigil of Calamitas

-Warding Permafrost's Concoction

-Warding Celestial Emblem

-Warding Shield of Cthulhu

-Warding Rose Stone

-Warding Discordian Wings (Wing slot)

(Everything is warding because my mana caps at 400 and I really need the defense)

Health: 590

Weapons:

-Godly Ancient Light

-Godly Asteroid Staff

-Masterful Ultra Liquidator

-Astral Staff

-Demiurgic Elemental Axe

-Mystic nebula Blaze

-Murderous Nuclear Fury (From Thorium, not Calamity)

-Manic Ancient Flame

-Masterful Razorpine

-Last Prism

Equipment:

-Cracked Crown (11270 souls) (pet)

-Suspicious Looking Tentacle (light pet)

-Mechanical Cart (minecart)

-Shrimpy Truffle (mount) (if I can find a probe I'll get the UFO key)

-Slime hook (grappling hook)

I dunno how much of that means anything, but hopefully it helps.

Thorium endgame weapons and armor are really powerful. Try that if you're still struggling. The Cryo Magus set is really good for damage as well.

Also providence has a really cheeky mechanic where her attacks can heal NEGATIVE HP. This ignores defense, immunity frames, and damage refuction. Your defense won't help you all that much. I recommend menacing or Lucky.

Thanks for the advice. Just one question: is the Throium gear you mentioned before or after Ragnarok? I can probably beat him thanks to a glitch where the first three bosses don't despawn when I die, but I would like to know whether or not I have to.

Also, that mechanic explains a lot of my issues lol.

Not sure if I want to move my nurse to hell quite yet XD

I have statues and stuff as well, and I have a rod of discord but I'm not sure how good I'd be with it in a hectic situation like this

Yes. The gear I mentioned is post Rag, with the exception of the Cryo Magus set. It's a post-Plant set and the set bonus makes the enemy take an extra hit for 33% damage.

Why are you using Shield of Cthulhu in post-moonlord? If you want to dash, get Asgard's Valor or Counter Scarf instead

Sounds interesting, I'll definitely check those out!
