Cannot craft an oven

Hi,

I bought Terraria a few hours ago, so I just started getting into this game.
And I have a question: I cannot craft an oven. I already built a house with stone walls and dirt background. I have closed the house with two doors and all the ground is also made out of stone. I placed a chair and a table, a torch and a workbench. But I don't get the option to create an oven. Also I cannot built a bed :-(

Can you please help me?

for bed, you need to get enough silk 1st. Maybe missed something for oven either.
Just talk with guide npc (brown-haired dude, spawned with ya), select "craft" button and put something into free slot here, to check, what you can craft with it

I saw a video on Youtube. The player there only placed stone walls and a door and could craft an oven. I cannot, even when I placed much more. I just cannot select it. It is not there to select it. The guy doesn't help me either.

afaik, doors, walls and such not required. There are certain structures, required to craft others (mostly anvils, but you will get/buy stuff for special crafting aswell). And thats all. Backgrounds and such arent necessary (but if you wont have big enough house with multiple rooms - new npcs wont go in, so - you will stuck)

Yeah, but this guy can place the oven right at the beginning and I can't. It is not there to select it and i don't know why. Without it I can't get further into the game. I built all I can for now but I can't built an oven - why? I want to continue the game but I can't without an oven.

I also cannot create a campfire. I'm really disappointed now..

You need 20 stone... some wood and some torchs i think

hey mate, first, its called a furnace, second, check the official TERRARIA WIKI! it has helped me out so many times throughout my journey, it will also tell you how to craft it, different items need different areas to craft, so if you need help with a certain item, check the wiki

I have over 700 stone, 3 torches and about 300 wood, but I can't craft it..

I don't know why. I just relogged into the game, changed nothing and now I can craft it. Don't know what the problem was. I just restarted the game for the third time..

You need 5 torches I believe. Restarting isn't going to help with that.
Research the Terraria wiki; it sounds boring, but it'll get you far. I've spent countless hours on the wiki.

for an oven,you need 8 stone, and you put it in a square, then yuo get an oven

Ignore this person, please, nothing in Terraria I know of builds like this except NPC houses.

Ask the guide. Or check the wiki. And make sure you're near a crafting table.

Guys, I had 700 stone, 3 torches and 200 wood. I just restarted the game and could build it. I think I just ran into a bug.
But nevertheless, thank you all for helping
