surface crimtane ore... mineable with COPPER?
So after a long while, I finally decided to play terraria again... and I found something rather odd... I found a cluster of 2 crimtane ore laying right on top of the surface. But what's even weirder, is that they were mineable with my COPPER pickaxe. Is this a glitch? Or... the other clusters of crimtane were not mineable with my copper pick.

Probably a glitch.
Just ignore it, unless it's a major problem.

Was this multiplayer? Or near the spawn? I know in some cases player placed blocks and stuff near the spawn has somewhat different rules compared to naturally occuring things or things away from the spawn. (Lihzahrd bricks for example that are player placed can be actuated pre-plantera defeated I believe) and some normally unminable blocks are minable around the spawn point. In fact, I'm going to test that right now!

Yep! I just validated it. It was close enough to the spawn to be minable by anything then. Upon placing crimtane ore blocks near the spawn point of the world, (And also green bricks) I was able to mine them with a copper pickaxe.

I don't know how far out it was from spawn, but defnetly not within the beginnin screen. And yes, it's singple player.

the 'minable from anything' is apparently a 1255 block radius from the spawn point in a large world. So it probably was in that range. https://terraria.gamepedia.com/Dungeon_Brick
this is more info regarding that. Also... I just found this... apparently crimtane and demonite... the mining requirement changes based on it's depth.

Like Demonite Ore, the pickaxe power required to mine Crimtane changes with location. Below ground level, a Gold Pickaxe or better is needed, while above ground, any pickaxe will do. Alternatively, any form of tile-destroying explosives, such as Bombs can be used.

Either way it's not a glitch. it's working as intended.

1255 block radius? That's pretty huge though!
