Trouble with getting Yelets (Hardmode Yoyo)

So, After beating a mechanical boss (the destroyer) i went to do my usual. Getting the Yelets. But it was not dropping that often so i placed a water candle. no luck from that but suddenly a Blood Moon happened. I spent the ENTIRE Blood Moon getting the Yelets and it did not drop ONCE. Any ideas how this could be happening/Any tips? It would help me out a lot (I need 2 Yelets one for me and one for my friend) By the way I GOT 3 TURTLE SHELLS AND A KO CANNON BEFORE THE YELETS. EDIT: Finally got Yelets but i still need the one for my friend.

battle potions are about 3 times more effective than water candles, make them using deathweed and rotten chunks.

Man... I put an artificial jungle biome above my base and sealed it up with fences so jungle monsters don't spawn during blood moons and stuff, and I'm literally SWIMMING in Yelets at times. It seems to be much like biome keys, things just have to be in the jungle to drop it, it doesn't have to be an actual jungle monster. Maybe try making a small artificial jungle over your base and see if that works.
