I can't see any loot differences in expert mode
I've started in expert mode for first time and the enemies are indeed much harder but that's all I can tell so far. I have killed countless man eater and didn't got any vines yet and I have looted over 10 chests til now and got the same items again and again - hermes boots, cloud in bottle and flair gun.

Is It just me? do you guys get more loot in expert mode?

Yea the only loot differance is that enemies drop more money i think, the only ITEM differance is bosses now drop expert mode only items

There is a considerable drop rate increase on many many items, hornets ALWAYS drop a stinger for instance in expert along with every soul being way more common and easier to farm. This applies to numerous mob drops.

I've got many stingers actually you're right. Well maybe It's my luck then.

It's not that you will find better drops on expert mode, it's that all items that drop from enemies and bosses have a higher chance to do so.

For instance, a Blessed Apple has a 1/200 chance to drop on normal mode, and a 1/150 chance to drop on expert mode.

There's also the addition of bosses dropping lootbags which contain expert mode-exclusive items.

I've experienced more drops in expert mode for sure. As mentioned, you don't get better items although the drop chance for some better items are increased. But in the end it's still about luck.

A friend of mine got turtle shells without effort on his normal world, I struggled for a couple of hours in expert. Chance is still chance even if it's greate

Expert Mode doesn't affect world generation. Normal mode? Flare gun. Expert mode? Flare gun.

All drop chances are doubled (well, nearly all - they're usually doubled but there are always exceptions).

I got finally lucky I guess. First I've found the fiberglass fishing pole and i tried to fish with it without any baits and with just 5 bites I've got the reaver shark and the sword fish. Wiki said It must be at least 50% fishing power but I had just 27% I guess this is related to expert mode?.

Worldgen actually is affected by Expert Mode; It's a lot easier to see using seeds. Expert Mode worlds have Armed Zombie and Bone Skeleton Statues in them, and the world generate different because of the added step.

The thing to remember is that even in expert mode RNG is a thing outside of certain things. Like the nymph 100% drops metal detector in expert. but for cases outside of that... You could kill one enemy in normal mode and get a biome key, meanwhile you kill hundreds of thousands in expert and get nothing. It's all about the luck of the draw so to speak.

And rarity
For example a slime staff chance on expert is 1/7142
