What armors and weapons I need to get before killing the Plantera?

well by then you should have a drax so some chlorophyite armor wouldn't hurt
as for weapons depends on what you have and are more comfortable with

otherwise potato already told you what armor you will need to get

and one final note just make a area with space next to the bulb and have heart lanterns with campfires here and there and you should be fine as long as you keep running around and hopping like a jack rabbit

dont use chlorophyte armour, use shroomite armour if your use ranged weapons or turtle armour if you use melee weapons, weapons are just the ones you like and use iron skin, health regen and other potions to be more powerful.

I've always used a Chlorophyte Shotbow. I would then make approximately 500 holy arrows.
You can use chlorophyte armour, but preferably Titanium armour.

I prefer Titanium because of it's amazing set bonus! Chlorophyte's is practically useless.

My arena would just be a giant box with platforms. You know, the cliche box arena. This is finished with campfires and heart lanterns.

Now, dodge Plantera by circling her. Wings are favored in this battle.

No... The Piranha Gun is a Hardmode, post-Plantera ranged weapon. This is according to the wiki. I believe this is correct because you can only unlock biome chests after Plantera is defeated. Thus the Piranha Gun cannot be used in a Plantera fight.
