An alternative to wooden beams?

I am trying to build a dojo. So far it was good until I found out that the wooden beams block decorations, platforms, etc.

So instead, I need something else. Everything is pretty much made of dynasty wood expect for the doors made of pealwood and the platforms made of rich mahgony.

So, what am I suppose to do with the beams?

Use a wood and paint it brown. I have done many things of that such as you can tell from my showcase.

Do you mean replace the wooden beams with wooden walls instead and what wood in particular should I use or I can i use any and just paint them brown?

Wooden fences can be what I feel is a suitable replacement for the beams, they're a back wall and if you only make them a single block wide they very much look like a wooden post. Try those!
