same woith plates, do i need the plate to be of a specific color?
The purpose of different colored wires is so that you can cross over other wires without connecting them to each other.
Brown blue or gray pressure plates used if you only want the doors to respond to player.

Tall gates do not need any room next to them to open since they go up and down, so you can put a pressure plate directly to each side of it and put a 3 wire long length between them. However this can also cause problems, I'd suggest _ | _ a space between the pressure plates which would be 5 long.
