How to conquer an area for the achievement Supreme Comander?

I'm playing sandbox mode and killed everyone but that didn't seem to work.

I have a feeling it's not finished yet. Maybe there's a quest associated with it? I don't know. I didn't get credit for "By Fair Means or Fowl" when I steal chickens, although it's been awhile since I ran the chicken heist quest, but for sure just stealing one on my own didn't trigger completion.

Same here, killed every camp and took over at least one building inside of them so new ones wont spawn but nothing.

You need to do the friendship quest and have a conversation with your partner.

Is it the one where I can decide to either contact that certain group (to avoid spoilers) or just take over the area? Because I do have it and I have both a quest to contact that someone, as well as a quest to have everyone join my community. Now, of course I did the sensible thing and killed every other community and I did wipe the map, however the bar is still missing about 10%. I searched every nook and cranny of the map but I couldnt find a thing! I eventually backed up my save and looked around with debug mode. Looks like there are a few more factions??? but they arent shown on the map. When I delete all fractions except the ones shown on my map and destroy them, it suddenly says "congratulations for completing this meaningless task" and... I guess the game is over? No achivo tho, I dont understand this achievement...

I play with 400% communities so it was quite a long and frustrating process but I eventually got it, what I had to do was save, disable fog of war to see where the last remaining people were. Then I reloaded to not brick achievements, killed them and got it. I hope it helps.

Buying one sure triggered it for me, stealing doesn't yes somehow.

How do you disable fog of war?

Debug menu> Graphics debug> Deselect "Show Fog of war"

After that you'll be able to see everyone in the map.
