In conclusion, having a variety is good not only for feeding your colony, but also for key industrial purposes later on.
edit: also, when it comes to containers, buckets tend to screw them up. Sealed containers are the best option.
NPCs *used to* grab a whole container and walk off, and people would end up with inventories full of empty containers, but I haven't seen that in a number of updates. Now my people just eat out of the barn and never remove the containers. They will still grab a piece of rabbit or boiled corn "for the road" if one is available though, but not containered food.
Playing build 115, and my community still grabs entire containers and hauls them around for a single meal.
Yeah. Can confirm this. In the current version it is a thing.
Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. So I guess it's just best to feed them boiled corn if I don't want to micro them all the time until the dev gets this stuff fixed up. Maybe there should just be food barrel or something that you build in the world and fill so that there's no containers for them to pick up and run off with. Because honestly, the whole container system is just annoying and pointless with the way it works, even when trying to produce gunpowder and stuff.
