no recipes at any item crafting bench

It's been a while since I last played the game. Decided to continue my last save where I left off today and I noticed that all of my crafting benches have no recipes listed. I only receive the "find more resources and develop your construction skill to unlock more recipes" text. I am using a character who has 5 star construction. Is there something wrong with my save file? Is there something I'm missing here that I need in order to unlock those recipes?

edit: I am looking to find a way to build ammo, molotovs, bombs, or anything that could help with defending my base. One of the NPC gangs keeps extorting me for money but they are geared to their tits with guns.

your save game may be older than the recipe discovery update?
The discovery can be a little strange especially after game/mod changes wrt save game. Sometimes, you just have to produce/acquire the required item again to trigger the recipe.

For workstations, try demolishing and rebuilding.

Otherwise, you may want to start a new game.

This seemed to be the issue! i was able to unlock salpeter after collecting urine so I assume the rest of the recipes will come as I unlock them. Thanks!
