Will mods block achievements?

Hello fellow survivalists~

It was probably discussed already and I did search for it too, but I didnt find a 100% conclusive answer sadly so I would like to ask a bit more directly, maybe so others can find it easily as well. Do mods void achievements?

Hey. I played with/ without mods. It didn't work. i can wait till it is fixed. There are some who got it to work though. i am playing on the main branch. From my plays with or without it doesn't work.

never knew about them. could it be they are only for story mode?

Mods definitely should void achievements, to make them matter.
But no idea if they currently do.

Hey sorry to bump this, but figured out the answer to this so wanted to leave a comment. ^^ Mods DO disable achievements. Just tried this on the buying a chicken achievement, made another save & put a mod on it -- did not grant the achievement -- and when I did it after going back to the save without mods, got the achievement: so yes, they unfortunately do, and even if it says in the debug menu that achievements are still active. :/

Well that sucks. Guess achievements doesn't matter then since we can just unlock all of them through cheating using mods.

Achievement hunting have really been unrewarding for a few years across the board. Maybe they'll make a comeback some day.

@zeeb Yeah the achievements have been pretty rough here, I am inclined to agree. ^^

True, I am probably going to try and go for them in game as; I want to see what I can get -- but more chiefly in this -- I am wary to just unlock the achievements using whatever program to do so as all of the conflicting reports out there with people saying it's fine to use or you get banned for using it..not entirely sure if it's one side telling the truth or if it's both with perhaps some games getting people banned for using that or something.. not sure--

--but I am wary to use it because of that. ^^

Does the usage of the F8 - debug & editor also block achievements? I usually cheat only with one thing: raising the skill caps of my recruits to max.

@antaru76 Hii! ^^ Yes I believe it does; there is a thing either in the main menu of f8 or in gameplay settings or something that shows "Achievements blocked" or something like that (at least on the beta) & I'm pretty sure that does disable achievements.

If you want though, cheat engine prob works & there are some trainers out there I am sure. ^^ In fact, I see one was uploaded last month apparently :eyes: when I just looked that up to check for you. ^^

Thank you for clarifying it. I'll stop worrying about it and will try to get them on another run.
