is there an option to stop organizer AI from storing loot in the vehicles?
i have dedicated storage for each specific item. i also have one barn that i hoped they would use as some kind of "overflow storage".

however, instead of using that, they seem to prioritize storing it in the closest storage nearby. which causes problems, since all the lumberjacks and the trappers keep depositing their stuff into the cars that i park near the entrances, and i don't want to park the cars far away from the entrance or away from nearby forests.

Doors now open automatically when vehicles approaches so no need to open them all the time.
Now you set both these doors to always closed, that way, even without zoning no one can ever access them.
That way you can also store all your selling goods without them taking them out again.

can trucks and military vehicles fit through those doors? i haven't actually tried that yet.

However, if there are legally allowed storage options for wood they shouldnt attempt storing it somewhere else. That would be a bug. If there is a allowed container thats not to far away or full, or resevered, they will / should priortize storing there.

i guess the problem is that my zone is too large. i took over the survivalist base in the NE of the story map. i also included the iron quarry next to it. my guess is that, they think some parts of the base is "too far".

Yes if its very far away they also store it somewhere else.
Just build a few smaller chest closer for wood.
As for the vehicles, if we are talking about non modded, vanilla vehicles, they are all exactly 3 tiles wide. So far, even the Humvee is capable of entering and leaving gates.
Cant speak for anything modded.

Yes there are multiple options.
What you can do is to either zone the organizer away from the car, by parking it next to the entrance wall outside of the organizers zone.
The second thing you could do if you want to avoid zoning:

Build a 5x5 little walled space at your base wall, with a door to inside and outside.
Doors now open automatically when vehicles approaches so no need to open them all the time.
Now you set both these doors to always closed, that way, even without zoning no one can ever access them.

What I have noticed is sometimes they dump things that are close to them if not an organizer, regardless of rules.

BUT if you have idle organizers they will shift the goods to the proper storage places.

I have seen some putting things in right storage after a looting run, and while I haven't correlated this, everytime I checked they were organizers. I do think distance is involved.

Yes, this has something to do with "clearing inventory"-
You see when assigned jobs, characters will attempt to efficiently do their job.
As example, someone assigned to diggiing a well, will drop off a catering bucket full of water to make room to carry 2 stones instead of one, for the sake of being efficient and faster.

So would a wood chopper thats also farmer first drop off his 4 wood before starting to plant:
In this second, he will drop it somewhere he can. Maiby not fully fleshed out yet.

But yes organizers will then organize it.
So some useless "pay gold to exorters and be sad" 3 fitness organizer is a must for every base.

yea, i kinda dealt with the problem by adding more organizers (i turned everyone's bottom role as organizer, so they do that before they idle) and i switched the storage so the food containers are closer (i didn't think it was that far, but apparently AI didn't like walking that far)

thanks
