They won't leave!

Been stuck in this log cabin for 3 in game days and running out of food/water!

Every time i step outside even when they can't see me they smell me and b line it towards me, tried running away to lure them somewhere else i get swarmed! Tried throwing rancid meat they eat it but then i come out for 1 second and they're all over me again!

How would you handle this?

Not sure if the SS is visible but you get the idea.. doesnt look like alot but there's about 8-10.

Pay attention to the arrow on the map. it's the direction the wind blow, if it's pointed towards the infected then you're ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Hi. Looking at your SS it is my guess that you got raided by a mob targeting your base. Further look at the wind direction. If you use that exit with the arrow they will smell you. How good is your stealth skill? That will also determine your ability to evade detection. The mob will not leave. i mean the green one. They have been designed to harass your base. Try escaping at night with the wind blowing the other way. If you have a wind up radio then you can see any mobs heading your way via F4. Also go into stealth mode before escaping. Boy you'll need all the luck.

I ran in the end and got jumped and lost consciousness to be helped by looters back at their base. Now I’m trying to make my way back and bumped into white strains….:/

Hiding in another house at the moment with a mob coming towards me..fun times :)

How would I handle it? I would kill them all, they are just greens and a couple blues. Did you just start this game? What sort of skills did you start with? What weapons do you have? If you have a bow and 3 stars in archery you can one shot greens. If you have a decent melee weapon (I see you have a machete, decent mid tier weapon), skills in fitness and hand to hand you can take them out pretty easy by just crippling them all then clean up. If you have a good gun (I see you have a pistol which is crap but if you have skills it can serve you well), ammo, and skills in firearms just blast away, it will probably draw in more though if more are around. Is there more in that general area? If the area is at least mostly clear and your skills are crap just run and shoot, keep the camera pointed at the horde chasing you and cripple them with your gun or bow, use the mini map to keep track of where you are going. If you stay in the general vicinity of the buildings you can duck inside if you are getting winded, if you go the melee route that would be a good strategy. Kind of a waste but you could always throw those molotovs you are holding, if you can get them to group up you can take them all out at once.

I see you have picked up a lot of scent tracks from towns. Is that what the first pic is, a couple infected packs? If you have a radio you can see them on the map. If you have a radio you can also throw it to use as a distraction. That second pic is a green town, towns will always have a massive infestation around it until you or someone else clears it out. Going into towns gives a scent trail they can follow, and for X number of days hordes will come from that town to wherever you may be. You should stay away from towns unless you are ready to tango. If you have a bow, a good amount of arrows, and decent stealth you can clear that green town pretty easily. Stay away from white strains until you are skilled and well armed.

If those were hordes they probably left your base by now, but they might be heading right towards you.

try exiting in one side and immediately going back in once they spot you, this will lure them all in that direction. Once you make sure that on the other exit there are little to no zombies (if there are, make sure to stay out of their line of sight and don't get too close! Even if they smell you they won't give chase unless they spot you.) just go out and sneak your way through.

DON'T RUN, it makes noise and attracts the zombies. Just keep on sneaking unless you absolutely have to make a break for it.

Oh wait they are all congregated at your base... Then once you get out try sneaking back in slowly and lure them out one by one, once you get to somewhere clear (no other zombies, has to be far enough away so the noise you make doesn't alert the rest) cripple them and bash their heads in, rinse and repeat.

I think my issue was the wind, didn’t even know there was wind! See other comment above I got out in the end and fell unconscious only to be saved by some looters. I’ve put a wall around the log cabin now so that helps. I just lob meat over the fence until I get a watchtower built. They’re fast little buffers though!

My guy just levelled up to 3 construction so gonna go find a car and repair it and yea the traps are a good shout!
