mine questions
So with the new mine mechanic, are you no longer to build a mine to mine a certain type of ore? I took over a camp, and all they just have lead. It's in a good spot but I want either flint for arrows or iron for steel arrows. Do I have to go to every camp on the map and find out who has an iron mine, then either pay for mineral rights or take it over? If that's the case, then why do we still have mineral maps? Is it a holdover from the older builds? I see a map pop up, so maybe it's Lemski's mod? I miss the old days when I could just build a mine in an area where there's minerals and I can build a base around it. Is there a way to get that back? Thanks!

Anyone know if more than one person can work a mine simultaneously (two people mining away together)?

Minerals aren't always in other people's bases, but they are in little patches around the world rather than being just everywhere like they used to be. You can use geological maps to find them, or look out for rocks with those minerals and put mines next to the rocks.

There are sliders at the bottom of the World tab when you start a new game that can increase the number of those patches.

yo Bob, How's it going, dude? Hope game sales are good so you can continue doing what you're doing.

A related mining question:

I started a new game, took over a looter camp that had no mine (it was the first camp I found and I killed them on day 1). I finally built a mine in the camp and everything is "poor"...stone, lead, flint, iron...all poor. Do these things improve as the miners dig deeper?
Drunkmonk May 30, 2022 @ 11:20am
nope thats the quality in that area
Malarky May 30, 2022 @ 11:36am
well that stinks...I'm totally out of luck for my base. Might as well start a new game.

So tell me peoples, how do you choose locations for bases now that the mining mechanic is the way it is? It almost seems like I need to destroy clans one at a time until I find someone with a good mine, then take over that town. Either that or I have to get so much money at start of game that I can buy a mineral map and then choose where to place the base. I've already put up the chain fence and wood fence. Guess I have to start with mine first and then figure out whether it is worth it to stay in that location.

Good grief.

i go for a flat area and just hope for the best if the mines are poor im not too arsed so

Long-term I need to have lead to make bullets, and lesser extent iron (I got lucky with abundant chicken wire). I just won't be able to manufacture enough bullets at this location for long-term success. Just stinks. Guess I'll start over.

the best source of bullets are raiders, looters, or those end game invisible strain batallion.
A problem of taking over mining rights
When the wanderer takes over AI's camp again, I can't trade mining rights because there is no such option

之前在你清除这个基地时,你是否已经夺取了这个矿呢,你看一下它的所属,如果主人是你,那就应该直接可以进去开采了。

Another mining question: Without a geological map, are we supposed to simply guess at locations for mines? I have a new game, and new base, and there is iron and flint not far away, but inside my base my mine is "poor" on everything. Do I just go and build a mine outside of base and hope it works? And hope the worker is ok? How do people handle this? I've about given up on having mines, since I've built 3 now and every single time it comes up a lemon, poor on all types. Maybe I just use it as a gym to work on fitness? (Do workers gain fitness in spite of the poor mine?)
