How do mines work
Hey everyone!

So I'm new at this game, and before I start spending a lot of time and resources in building mines, I was wondering how they work... I tried to find a guide or discussions about it but there's not much. Here are my questions:

- Can you build mines anywhere, or should they be near the rock of the same resources (like, if I want an Iron mine, do I need to build it near an Iron deposit)?
- And if yes, does it need to be a boulder, or would an Iron rock suffice?

Also, since we are here, does anybody know if rocks respawn?

In the beginning you do not need a mine just look for flint, iron or stone rocks around your base, go there with a pickaxe and start mining. Later if you find or buy a geo map you will see what resources are underground and can build a mine above a depot. The underground depots should have unlimited resources

To add to this, you can build a mine anywhere, however building a mine with the help of a geo map speeds up the rate of extraction for a given mineral. I don't find extraction rates to be a issue though; this isn't a RTS like AOE, and until you start getting an actual community going, mass production of resources isn't really necessary (still keep it in mind however, just don't worry if you can't get that perfect spot where all minerals meet).
