Any loot respawn mods?
I know the base game doesn't allow loot respawn (wish it did like 7 days to die after a month or so in game). So what are good ways to get items? Do merchants constantly get new items to trade? Or is it a "once you've done it all start a new game" at this point?

Traders have levels, the higher their level the better stuff they tend to get, they will not get new items unless you are buying and selling to them (to some extent other NPCs will trade with them but generally not enough to influence their inventory), FEMA tends to have the best items, the one who you contact is also always a trader. The best way to get items is generally to loot bodies, graves, and wiped out communities. You can change the amount of loot and lootable structures when you start a new game. The loot system in 7DTD would not work well here.

I just hate running out of things to loot and do. Restarting after building up a community with no more enemy communities coming in and nothing to loot gets boring. So just wanting to spice it up some.

As strange as it sounds, raiders are the primary sustainable source of uncraftable loot. Traders etc do restock, but usually slow and requires trade, but is a good secondary.

Do raiders randomly spawn and show up on the map? I thought that raiders, or looters I thought they were called, had established bases and once they were gone that was it.

Yes raiders, traders, refugees, and infected hordes will show up on the map. Some of those raiders will head directly for your base, some will just wander around until they find an enemy (everyone is their enemy). When you start a new game you can determine how much if any of these 4 groups will show up on the map. Looters are on the map when you start (unless you set looters to 0), they are one of the community types, raiders will also become looters if they take over a defeated community, unlike raiders looters are not automatically at war with you or anyone else, though they will often get into wars you CAN remain peaceful with them.

Usually I just wander up to their camp with 1 gold on me. I give them my gold, trade, talk to some of them, maybe get some work from them. Then I'll go do it, bring back the 1 gold, they let me in, people start liking me, then I just recruit who I want from their group. xD

Yeah I like to recruit from looters too. Just so you know if you have a community you are losing respect and hurting their morale by giving into their demands, in fact they will lose morale anytime they try to force you to pay no matter what you say (you are being pushed around), if you say try it and they back down you will gain respect (there will still be a small morale drop from your people) both from your people and theirs. Lying can hurt the respect and morale of moral people. Giving 1 gold will only give you a very short period of time, saying try it will give you the most time (other than maybe giving them a massive amount of gold). Getting into wars with them (or anyone) will also lower your communities morale.

By the way as to raiders, if you have a radio you can see them on your map.

Might explain why all my people are always depressed despite having the best food and safety walls. "Oh no he gave 1 gold piece away. BOOOOO HOOOO HOOOOO". Starting to think going solo is the best way to go in this game to be honest.
