The taking over a building button is bugged
Took me a while to figure out that you can actually take over small towns, and all the buildings in them if you clear out the Zs.

You will get twice as many zombie attacks and raider attacks as usual, but if your a skilled fighter then that is only a big pluss for you.

Only problem is that the Take over button is bugged out.
I was about to take over a small motel i found when a zombie attacked me, when i went back to the building to claim it then button was gone, and my player wont automatically sleep in it unless he is desperate.

I uses the area but i have to manually sleep in it which becomes annoying when you get more settlers.

One Massive big pluss however is that traders sometimes borrows it from which makes them stay longer then usual, but i could have still have that if i saved one building that i didn't claim for that.

Yes, taking over a building requires you to equip a Toolbox. Not sure how much wood you need, but about 6 I think. Once you start the "take over", your char will automatically look for wood, or you can chop nearby trees for it if you have an Axe.

Or if the building already has wood in it, will take wood from there. Please confirm if it's a bug by checking the Toolbox equip and trying again.
