I hate this dumb save system!
SAVE TOKENS?? WTF??

Why on earth do I have to potentially lose tons of gameplay time just because I don't have a token to save my game? That's a horrible choice from the devs!

I simply don't have RL time to start over and over again each time I get killed and wasn't able to save for some time. :steamfacepalm:

This kind of breaks the game for me, I'm very disappointed. :lunar2019madpig:

I'm sorry you experienced this. If you please research this though. It's been asked multiple times. Save tokens are not required. You can turn that option off in character creation, next to Invisible Strain. Where you can save normal from the menu.

Thanks for the reply!
I must have missed that option... sorry for the rant: you're a life saver. :steamhappy::cozyspaceengineersc:

Just don't remove it, please. As I was already familiar with the previous game, I know how much the possibility of saving endless times made the game very easy. I liked this new way of saving because it makes the game even more challenging, moreover after a while you get a lot of tokens from the zombies.

If you've already started your game and would like to keep it, you can turn them off in game as well.
Hit F8 to open the Dev menu. Then choose Gameplay Debug near the bottom. Then uncheck "Save Tokens Required" at the bottom.

Nice to know, thanks! :-]
I'd also like to add some feedback to this discussion...

I think the devs should make the "save without tokens" the default option.

New players like me have no idea or don't pay much attention on their first game to all the available options for a new game. This way after becoming experienced the player could still activate the token system later, but at least the first few games new players won't have the same problem I had. I was literally going to reimburse the game had not a the dev explained this to me!

Also, when you're a newbye you die a lot more and losing all the progress each time can become frustrating if you know what I mean... so being able to save as often as you want it's a win win IMO.

I like the Save Token option. Makes it more of a challenge... well after I figured out how to play better and not die in 2 minutes that is. Keep the Save Tokens, that's my vote.

save tokens are the best

Turn off the option.

Ideally, the default should be save tokens off.

I like the savetokens too, but Jost Amman might be right. They are more suitable for experienced players or ppl who played the first survivalist over and over again.
Deactivated should be standard and activated optional.

Yeah, this wasn't my point. I'm not asking to remove anything here.
I'm just saying the default for new games should be the opposite of what it is now.

I'm sure in time, when I get better at the game, I'll dig into save tokens too, but for now...

I'd assume when you tick off the "invisible strain" off. It turns off random zombies with survivors?
