Debug Menu
Hey, I’ve been playing around with the debug menu a little, but there’s still a lot for me to learn - is there a way to boost the morale of the people in my community? I’ve found where their morale is displayed, and what has caused it to be set to that level, but I cannot see any sliders, input boxes or buttons that would allow me to alter things... any ideas?

Also, if you’ve figured out how to do cool things with the editor, please share. So far I’ve made a pistol, accidentally switched off save tokens and planted some trees - hardly groundbreaking!

Morale is calculated from memories, so you need to add or remove memories to change morale.

I wrote a rough editor guide here btw :)

Did you figure it out?
I have no idea what he means by creating memories... if he means "making memories" like going out and doing stuff so the characters have memories.... or if memories is a technical term for editor.

I read the guide he linked but Im still lost :/
II dont wanna ask him directly... I feel bad bugging the dev when he has better things to be doing haha

My characters suffer from morale problems like crazy and im not sure what to do :/

I haven’t tried yet, I went around giving everyone booms and making sure they had meat curry to eat instead - everyone brightened right up. We also went on whole-community excursions to hunt looters and zombie hordes - that seemed to work too.

I’m pretty sure you can edit a character’s memories in the F8 editor. I think if you removed negative thoughts, that should boost morale. For instance if you messed up on a gift choice, or failed to shake someone down, everyone takes a mood debuff. If you delete that memory, morale should go back up.

I’ll have a good look tonight and get back to you.

When I go into the debug menu>Character editor>Memory Editor. It lists all the memories that affected the morale, but there isn't really any way to remove them. Did you figure out how?

Not yet, matey, but I plan to take a look this evening. As soon as I figure anything out, I’ll post it here... or admit defeat and ask Bob!

Right, judging by Bob's guide and the lack of interactive buttons in the F8 editor, I think that this is something that will need to be edited in a file somewhere... just trying to figure out where the memories are stored...

Not found it... however, you can create a new memory from the Main Menu. Click Editor > Base Story > Edit Memory > Create New

Now you can make an easy morale booster memory! Still no clue how to edit the existing memories though! If/when I find out, I'll be back!

Sorry I think I got myself confused earlier with the debug menu I made for myself in the original Survivalist, which I could add/remove memories in. Currently you can't with the one in Invisible Strain, I will need to add it that some point but it's not in yet.

Ahhh, thanks for clearing it up for us. Would creating a new memory from the Editor work to boost morale for now?? (cheaty though it may be?)

Simplest way to boost morale would probably be to spawn a bunch of novels or wine in your inventory (Equipment Spawner in the debug menu) and give them out to people (making sure you give them the ones they like).
