What's your favorite bird?
The Chihuahuan Raven is a very good boy, 2 food for 1 egg is a game changer.

irl my favorite bird is the White-necked Raven so this seems apt

Ducks. All of them.

Eurasian Hoopoe IRL. Would be wonderful if this game covered different biomes.

The ravens are the best, especially if you can pair them with a gull so you can gain food, eggs, and draw cards all in one row. I scored 143 with that combo against two normal AIs.

I like the Black-necked stilt and the Horned Lark; both are nice looking birds and their corresponding cards have interesting effects.

The mallard because his quack-waddle is cute. Always happy to lay an egg on that fella.
Favorite bird for me would be the bald eagle (in german this bird is called whitehead sea eagle) and I love the fact that Ben Franklin didn't want to have him as the U.S. national bird because he steals fish.

Looking at bird abilities I love it when a bird can potentially bring me food from the birdfeeder. I just played a round where I was able to put two birds into the forest with that said ability. Not only was I getting food from the play action itself...the dice fell lucky for me so my birds brought me additional food everytime. With all that food I was able play some big guys.

In the game, like a lot of people, I love the two ravens, the 1 egg for 2 food exchange can almost guarantee a win. The best combo of birds I have ever had was a raven with the Franklins Gull. That is a game winner right there.

I real life I would have to go with Pine Grosbeak if sticking with North American birds. Their is just something about them that is so cute. In the world, the Keel-billed Toucan probably takes the cake.

Franklin's Gull (I think it's a Franklin's) that gives you 2 cards for 1 egg, and I agree - any of the food birds - especially the Indigo Bunting. I have to say that that the kingfisher just cracks me up and every time I get a fish I laugh - he's my favorite "fun" card :-D

IRL, for birds I've seen in person, it's a toss up between Am White Peli (they're just so friendly and goofy) and the adorable Boreal Owl. Such a tiny, beautiful bird.

I'm surprised no one mentioned the pink-power birds that give you eggs in between turns. Bronzed cowbird, American avocet, Barrow's godeneye. One other cawbird iirc. You get two of those and some other birds with the right nests, and you almost never need to lay eggs (until the end if it scores the most)
