Blood Ammo

it needs to do something other then just exist to ruin a weapon. seriously its just not good theres no upside its a strict down side you N E V E R run out of ammo why would i want a gun thats only upside is negated after the first upgrade tree. make it do double damage or like just get rid or it?

Some people do run out of ammo. It also removes the need to reload which can make some weapons OP. Also, I think it spices up RNG.

i dont mind it at all myself the game is fun but some levels takes a little time to find the last door ^^" i think having the doors on the map be a little easier to find but other then that its a great game

If you get blood ammo on an explosive weapon you never have to reload it. Something like the grenade launcher or bazooka. Even the double barrel shotgun works great with it.

exactly! on these occasions I like Blood ammo - you can fill a room with rockets with a cost of around 40 HP.

Had a minigun with blood ammo, decent pierce and decent leech chance. Probably one of the best weapons I had ever had that I was able to keep from level to level. between the leech and pierce all I had to do was line them up and mow them down. Always came out with more health than I used.

Yeah this super annoys me usually, more often than not it just ruins an otherwise amazing weapon, and in some saves it came with a crazy frequency, but thankfully not in others. I'd really love if it's frequency was a lot less tbh.

Blood Ammo is OP on one particular weapon: the Turret Gun.
Do you know how much HP it shaves off to throw a 50-ammo turret? 2. That's it. You can spam eight turrets, wait for them to explode, spam some more, spam spam spam.
My only regret here is that I don't have that stupid Blood Ammo Achievement yet.

Try to get a blood ammo minigun (Or really any other fast RoF gun) and hop into survival.

Blood Ammo + Mini Nuke Launcher = FUN!
Note, it will blow you up if you'e not careful.
The weapon seems to get faster.
Some weapons do get faster from Blood Ammo, because they lose charge up time.

In addition to all the examples mentioned in this thread, let me just go ahead and tell you to try finding a Smart Gun with Blood Ammo when you can then just spam turrets at the cost of only a bit of HP. Or any really powerful weapon with high ammo cost like Chaos Staff.

Blood Ammo does have its upsides.

I would pick an answer and say that one of these is the right choice but honestly they are all good points that i continue to find and continue to think "man this would be better with a different prefix" i do appreciate the different out looks on the ability and will look into trying to use it more rather then avoid it like the plague

Again, it really REALLY depends on the gun because as everybody here says, there are some guns that are really good with it (explosives), dependent on what other status you have (like a very high leach) and some that are just awfu(anything melee).

It's kind of like the reverse of random projectile, where you have some folks keep the gun JUST for the random projectile. Even though, the actual projectile doesn't really change the damage, just changes the AOE. Whereas Blood Ammo is SEEMS LIKE almost always a gun to throw away even if the other stats are amazing.
