Went to the game's section on speedrun.com and found a series of videos explaining the Glitchless Any% speedrun - the one that's closest to what the average gameplay looks like.
I also downloaded LiveSplit for the heck of it, since it automatically splits your times at each loading screen anyways and I figured it might be fun to see when I improve.
My second run was mid-30 minutes, and with lots of room for improvement, but just 6 more full runs (and 3 ragequits) later, and I now got a 29:27, which would put me at 581th place on the leaderboard, when the hardest trick I did the entire game was jumping onto and off the boards across the pit in Blackout instead of looking for the path and walking across like a normal person.
Also, I checked up my "Sum of Best Segments", the lowest times I got for each level, and they'd total a 27:42, so there still were lots of mistakes.
Basically, getting sub-30 is a bit of a challenge, but not one that requires an ungodly amount of practice - the most important thing you can do to get faster is remember what to do in each room, and try to keep moving straight towards the exit even while moving objects around.
