As a workaround that you can use for now, however clunky it is, is to resize the object blocking wall that is beside the door to how you want it, then resize the door to the same-ish width/height/rotation as that wall, place the door as close to an edge of the wall, right click the door and select "Snap." Hopefully the door will then snap to the resized object blocking wall, taking on its sizes/rotations. If it doesn't work first time, move/resize it a bit until it does. You will need to do that every time you need to resize a new door, but you can just copy a pre-existing resized door by holding Shift when you go to move it.
