pawn secret

so at the idea generator level i started going backwards and noticed a white pawn popping in and out of the door ways, i followed it and it lead me to a secret ending, i got credits and everything.

Blackout. After turning the power on, turning around reveals a pawn peeking in from the hallway, complete with a slide whistle sound. Following it to the bottomless pit in the boards room and jumping in leads to one more hallway where you find it sitting in a control room that's an homage to the Secret Dog Ending in Silent Hill 2.

You might need to complete the game and/or get 100% completion for this to occur, though.

This ending can be achieved on a fresh save file without needing to complete the game first. No idea if the devs meant for it to be available right away or not, since it is quite easy to find for anyone who explores everything.

There is also a small area where the pawn is sitting that is black. You walk into the black you will be falling forever. I redid the level after the special ending. Walking back instead of going into the room where the pawn is, I stepped into the black and kept falling nonstop.

You might have accidentally walked out of bounds. There's a few intangible spots in the hallways leading up to the ending, unfortunately.

I just got this by accident and had to Google it, thought it was a weird ending. Lol.

I noticed a clue about this secret. In the level, some containers have a skull with "don't look back" written on them.

lol I got this ending on my first playthrough and I was so confused once I got sent to the main menu. Luckily the game continued me at the generator part.
