Controller Connection

[BIRD UP]

I am having trouble connecting any kind of controller with this game. My controller works just fine with any other game. I have searched the internet and discussions with no real answer. Is anyone else having this problem?

Hi, would you let us know which controller you are using? Also it would be helpful to send to [e-mail], so we can more easily keep track :)

Long story short, if it's a next-gen controller, it's possible that we don't have native support for it yet.

Mine is indeed a newer type, 2020 Xbox One X. I got it to work through some Steam Big Picture Config that translates M+KB > Gamepad input.

Has anyone had any luck resolving this? I've gone through:

PS4 controller
Generic Xbox 360 controller
Stadia Controller

with various configurations, combinations, forced on, forced off, etc etc and still nothing.

Have tried it via remote play (which is how I ideally want to play this on my large tv) as well as locally on the computer, with and without big picture mode. What gives?

Very frustrating considering it says it supports gamepad/ controller.

a wired / wireless PS4 controller works for me
are you sure controller configuration / support is on? "Playstation Controller Support" for example
is the controller enabled in-game?

PS4 controller, tried wired and wireless.
This is on an M1 Pro macbook.
Tried in big picture and normal steam.
Tried with gamepad controls and with WASD+mouse mappings for the controller, still nothing.

It's disappointing to see this hasn't been resolved yet.

I wonder if the fix that works for Prey 2 may work for this... hmmm
