Apple Room- Hole in the Ceiling?

Hi! I'm a first time player, and I was in the Cloning section in the ramp/apple puzzle room. I noticed there's a hole in the ceiling above the apple, and after launching myself up there a few times, it seems to just be a long, dark, vertical stretch of nothing? I tried looking it up but I can't seem to find anyone else mentioning this looming hole up there, and since there doesn't seem to be anything in there, is there a particular reason for its existence?

Or maybe there *is* something up there but I just couldn't see it- it was a bit frustrating trying to jump up there and angle myself properly, so I only got a few chances to test the walls for secret openings. Anyone know if I'm wasting my time on this mysterious hole, or have I overlooked something obvious?

(Fun game, by the way, glad I picked it up!)

As far as I know, it's just where you respawn from if you fall through the hole on the right side of the room where the apples get pushed off

OH.... wow, I never bothered jumping down there, I feel ridiculous now! That surely would have answered my question much faster had I tried that lol but there you have it- I was so focused on my way of seeing things that I had forgotten about another perspective the beauty of the game! Yeah, I know this feeling... I legit spent like 15-20 minutes trying to launch myself high enough to see if anything was up there. ... Until I realised it's the same hole you fall from if you jump down the other hole. It was rough.

This room was the only big chalange for me to solve. Was near giving up ^^
