Lost my progress in level 6 - how to get it back?

I have the mac version installed, and it's been working fine until this evening, when I restarted it to Continue Playing as I have in the past, but I no longer get that option - only New Game. How can i get my saved progress back?

The same happend to me today wanting to check out the developer commentary after having completed the game yesterday. I also have the Mac version.

Same here, was this related to yesterday's Steam update? That's the only thing that's different... 5.5hrs of play showing up, but go into the game and it's New Game option only

I was able to get past the previous point, and finish the game, so I guess the problem was related to a steam update.

I also lost all of my save data. Really annoying since I was halfway through the game. Is this going to be fixed?

Same - got the macOS Steam update, lost the progress, pretty frustrating.

I'm having the same issue. Played for a couple of hours yesterday and today only the New Game option was visible in the main menu. Clicked on it to see what would happen and now I see the Continue button, but it continues the new game rather than from old checkpoints. The Steam console does reflect the true time played as well as achievements, but there's no option within the game to continue from the old checkpoints. Steam did update itself today prior to launch, so it's possible that caused this somehow.

I just noticed the same thing has happened to me. I had completed the story pre-update and then when logging in today, excited to look for the rest of the chess pieces and try out the level editor, I noticed that I only have the option to start a new game. The achievements and 11 hours are still listed on steam but the game is not representative of that. I would love if there can be a fix to this restoring progress and assuring it won't be an issue again.

Same here, and I don't even have the Steam-, but the GOG-Version. I was some 2 or 3 hours in the game and now I really hate that game.
