About character stats

After having finished the game with a level 23 Misako, I'd like to ask everyone else - how meaningful were character stats for you?

Personally, I did notice a few changes, mostly in character speed, but besides that I didn't notice all that much difference. For the most part, I felt like I always needed the same amount of hits to defeat (most) enemies and also that I always take the same amount of damage when getting hit.

It might have been me just not having noticed the difference, so I wanted to ask and see if anyone else has more information on how much of a difference the stats make.

Enemy's scale with your level and story progression, you don't notice it unless you progress without eating any food... Then you'll notice how little damage you are doing on bosses.
