The Bunny Button + Tank Button from Merlin's literally breaks the game.

You can kill guys in 3 hit combos with these things equipped at zero consequence when both are on your character.

The Bunny Button makes you go super fast.
The Tank Button makes you go super slow but gives you insane strength.

Equip them both and the Bunny Button will neutralize the slowing effect of the Tank Button... GG.

I'm killing mobs in 3 hits or 1 Dragon Feet Attack.

You should mention the area the shop is in too. Its one screen right of the downtown transit center

....You guys do know this shop is intended to sell broken items, right? They both cost a whopping 5000 dollars and it's a secret shop. I believe almost every River City game has it, including River City Ransom. They're always found in street tunnel areas. In fact, the Scott Pilgrim game also had a Merlin's Mystery as a nod to River City.

The items sold are different of course, but they're intended to be extremely expensive and grant powerful stats/abilities. Also, getting $10000 in one playthrough is impossible without an insane amount of farming.

I was actually moments from uploading how to find this shop, but I was going to put it all in spoilers since it's supposed to be a secret one.

Yeah that's true, never really thought of it that way, except the shop in the original RCR is garbage... You spend way too much cash for terrible gains. There's actually a shop guide on Gamefaqs for the original RCR and it outlines which normal items you should buy to max your stats cost effectively.

My brother and I beat it on the Nintendo Shop on Switch in less than 2 hours and had most of our stats maxed, very little grinding, maybe like 30 minutes tops just buying cookies and lollipops and that sort of thing... probably spend about 30 minutes just sitting in shops watching the dialog and animations play out.

Either way, yeah Scott Pilgrims shop kind of broke the game as well, but it was mostly through cheat codes, like that code to suicide and turn in to 50 bucks that you could collect on your next life.

Or the Power of Love sword code that acted kind of like the valmanway (crissagrim) from Castlevania Sympony of the Night.

But yeah those were cheat codes... These accessories are built in to the game mechanics as the best accessories in the game, that's why I was kind of shocked about how broken they are...

I mean they literally render leveling up / buying skills pointless... You can 3 shot combo any enemy that isn't a Red or Undead variation... those ones take about 5 hits... but still, that's pretty crazy.

But yeah you're not telling me something I don't already know, I was just kind of taken a back by how broken they really are... but it's fun and is saving me tons of time farming recruits, I'm just about to go in to the final area of the game and have the undead arnold guy to get, besides two other enemies I haven't even ran in to yet.... but I digress.

I showed a picture of the shop, it's in the Downtown area, the tunnel... I guess relative to the original NES game it's "The Armstrong Thruway" but it's probably a different in this game... either way it's just right of the junk yard two screens from that "BENJI" character... the guy you have to find keys for in the trash compactor.

In River City Ransom EX, that shop had even more broken potential. For instance you could gain Yamada's telekinetic powers and... oof, you're basically invincible once you have them. It was so broken I think you can't even get that until you beat the game at least once. (And unlike the NES version, Yamada is actually a formidable boss instead of a pushover -- EX is the first time we see him with those powers IIRC)

You deserve the brokeness by the time you obtain those two items together so not big deal. You're pretty much done with the game by then, it's basically the "Infinity plus one sword" trope, a bragging rights item(s).

Need play River city ransom EX and use the cheats names for all stats at max, is practically the same

Can anyone tell me if the secret shop is on the switch i have beat the game with everyone i am at the wall with the paper on it in the tunnel just one screen over from the bus stop in downtown. But when i go up to the wall and use light attack it just punches nothing happens. I wasn't for sure if the switch had the shop or not. I tried looking it up but all i ever find is playstation and xbox videos. any help would be amazing thanks.

Never mind figured it out. If anyone is having trouble with this just have to hold the attack button when next to the wall.
