Also just ignore op, he doesn't even own the game.
yeah this what I mean.
It's a mixed bag, but most of the ones they did hire (from what I heard) did perfectly fine. Jacksepticeye sounded great as the creepy dude (I always forget his name). Arin and Dan from Gamegrumps did a great job with "Jimmy" and "Billy". Lilypichu did her signature voice for at least one vendor and was great at it. And, as stated literally a few posts before yours, a number of these youtubers are actually trained in voice acting and have gigs doing voices for other projects - especially Arin and Dan.
The only standout voices that was truly off in my opinion are the video game store guys. Everyone else was adequate-to-spot on. One thing that did confuse me was some of the vocal direction they were given at times. There are maybe a few too many vendors that were downright hostile to you. Not sure what that was about. Not a huge deal, just maybe a little too over the top (I'm looking at you, Adam from SOR lookalike screaming at me to leave his store)
Were those really the voice actors in this game?
Seriously lost a lot of respect for the Dev now.
Instead of hiring actual talent or people who are starting out who DO have talent...they pay those guys??
FFS they might as well have just gotten Angry Joe to do ALL the voices
now go back to the title of my thread, looks at everything this game is lacking, then see where the money went. this was a youtuber shill game, no wonder they wouldn't even implement netcode
Here are all the accredited voice actors for this game: https://www.behindthevoiceactors.com/video-games/River-City-Girls/cast/
Of this cast, 15 of them are professional voice actors that have done many other gigs - mainly in anime, network television, or other games.
3 of them are youtubers known to have voice acting prowess and have been given professional jobs in singing/voice acting. Of these are Arin Hanson, Dan Avidan, and SungWon Cho.
3 of them are youtubers not known for voice acting prowess. Of those three:
Ross O'Donovan. He voiced one of the more surly store vendors. Did a good enough job to where I didn't even realize it was him.
Sean McLoughin, who voiced Godai. He did fine, and I've yet to hear anyone complaining about him.
Cryaotic, who voiced Demetri - another store vendor.
As for the game store voice actors, I'm going to take a wild guess and say they were developers of the game, thus why they weren't exactly great at the voice acting part.
At this point you're all just complaining to complain and it's kinda getting old. It'd be fine if you were actually trying to strike up a meaningful conversation, but every post both of you have made have been purely negative and ignoring everyone else's comments. Either you're just trolling, or you simply want to be combative.
There were only some youtubers. Not all of the voice actors were youtubers. And most of the ones that were youtubers have voice acting history. But I'm just a broken record at this point - you both are so hell bent on being negative about all this that you're blinding yourselves to everyone else's comments as well as the proof that they're giving you. I can tell you're either going to completely ignore this post, ignore the link, or try to find the most asinine thing of my post to pick at so you can keep ignoring the facts. Either way, I'm not gonna be here to see it. I'm gonna just not help with the continuation of this thread and let it die. *unsubs*
I'm going to drop from this thread, too. It seems like a lot of people just want to find any little reason to whine and complain about the game. I'd rather just have fun playing the game.
