To watch anime, fantasy dramas, comic book movies, etc the first barrier is usually an open-mind.

I love Neptunia and the character design so I was very open mind when I watched it but the plot was just garbage.

I share your sentiment. I didn't think the anime was anything spectacular. It was genuinely average or even bad at times. But I'm always excited to see more CH + Tsunako stuff coming to the west, so even if I didn't particularly enjoy the anime - I'll still be getting this game just because I wanna support a dev team I'm confident behind and a great artist to back it up.

the plot is amazing you are just not seeing it for what it is light hearted ecchi comedy

The Light Novels are better, tbh. Anime cut out a lot of content, including the 99% of the backstory and several explanations.

Most of the Spirits are actually just ordinary human girls that were given their powers from the original Spirit, who was an artificial life form created by Westcott and Woodman, and caused the Great Spacequake 30 years prior to the story. The original Spirit went rogue and gave some of her powers to the girls (in the form of magic gems called 'Sephira Crystals') who she felt had the 'potential' to wield them, turning them into Spirits across that 30 year time period (when a human becomes a Spirit, and their powers are still active, they stop aging), in order to throw Westcott off of her sent, as he wants to use her powers to destroy the world. Shido also has an incomplete Sephira Crystal inside of him, which let's him seal their powers in order to complete his own Crystal, and Ratatoskr planned to remove it via surgery and destroy it once he completed it, which, in theory, should return the Spirits back to normal human girls.

The problem with DAL is that it takes a long time to get most of these answers, and most of those answers are near the end of the series.

Is there a way to get the LN translated, better yet are they "out there" translated?
Thanks in advance!:Karin:

Fan translations are already out for the Light Novels.

Anything that revolves about Kadokawa being the publisher like with Date a Live will probably never have an official english translation, unless by some chance they decided to translate it themselves.
