0 white 8 blue keys
Killed last boss, 91% unlocked.
A double locked door in deep subteranean is nlocking me, both white and blue but I can't find the last white key.
I seems to me I'm missing a hero because I got a morning star item usable only by Bran, supposedly to break orange hollow blocks .
Got the item to hint secret passage. Cleared all flashing points on the map (except 2 unreachable red HP and another blue key).

I'm sure the last white key is somewhere but would it be possible that by opening a white door, I locked myself out ?
Why do I have so much blue keys ? I don't expect the few rooms I haven't unlocked to contain 9 blue doors.

I must say that the map is very 90s
No marker available, no distinctive sign for unlocked hidden path or quest room. A bit of a shame for a game so rich in backtracking.

I have 100% the game and have 1 white key and 6 blue keys left. I doubt that you locked yourself out.

I'm in a similar situation. Is there one really well hidden white key somewhere in the game that you need a special item to access, or can you look yourself out of the best ending by going through some of the optional white doors?

whew, found it. If anyone else is stuck in a similar situation, the last white key is in the Catacombs to the far right. You'll need Zeke's spawn-a-block-anywhere that you get in the Citadel to access it. It's right before a locked red key door. So yeah, that was a nightmare to find, but I can confirm you can't accidentally lock yourself out of the best ending by using too many white keys.

Glad to hear your resolved that. Technically there seems to be 1 more White Key, than all of the White doors available, but some of them are well hidden.

Thanks. And you're right. I found one more white key in the Catacombs. I ended up nabbing it immediately after I unlocked what was (for me) the final white door right before the Subterranea 2 elevator.

So I am going to end the game with one extra, but ironically I would have never gotten it without opening the last white door.

Wait a moment. Is there more keys than doors to open it? For me that's an error design or a rough way to ease the game. I'm now near the end and I was wondering why I have so many blue keys and then I reached to this thread xD.

The developers did this not in error, but as a result of the game's open design. Once you factor in Black Knight and Monster modes, they needed to ensure - no matter your path, or abilities - there was no way to soft-lock your progress. The things you can do in Monster mode - in particular - are especially crazy, and it'd likely be impossible to account for all possibilities.

I've just had this issue too! Thanks very much to cyricsservant for the solution :)

You really saved my bacon on this one. Exact same situation as you!
