- Loading times are still atrocious. And for whatever reason the game is 32-bit when my PC is 64-bit.
- Still with the above, Monster Mode and BK Mode's Retry FORCES THE LONG LOAD AGAIN.
- Anything about Epithemeus for BK and Monster? Maybe have it so that when they die, instead of Retry and Exit, the Death God informs them of a revival fee (and have it scale to how much of the map has been uncovered), and offer them some goodies for sale.
(SPOILERS BELOW)
In Mechanism 2, the boss room to the left of the elevator.
You car go in, jump right, and without activating the start of the fight, shoot the wall to the left, which will show the damage its taking. I had the lunarian bow
After a while it stops, so if you activate the fight, the boss face appears, the HP bar fills empties, and there's nothing to do other than kill yourself in the spikes.
Once you come back, the face is destroyed but you dont receive what I assume is the blue gorgon eye.
Are you guys planning on a fix or is my save game at a point of no return??
Besides that, two annoying bugs, but not game breakers.
I bought the item from epimetheus which allows you to see the statues on the map - the item never showed up in my inventory and the statues are not visible on the map.
While visiting the hunter which gives you orbs by killing a certain number of enemies rewards you with - 1800 orbs ( MINUS 1.800) so that the ones you earn afterwards simply start to bring the number closer back to 0.
-In monster mode, the game will stop registering midair jumps, leaving you stuck with your single jump and no ability to climb ladders. Usually results in having to just quit and lose all your progress since the last save, unless you can hobble to a nearby save point to save before you quit. Often, you can't. By far the most frustrating bug I encountered. It happened at least half a dozen times before I finished. I could not figure out a trigger. Sometimes it happened on a screen transition, other times in the middle of a screen. It may happen more frequently around the bubbles in Serpent Path, or I might have just been particularly unlucky there.
-In both monster mode and black knight mode, the input would occasionally get stuck moving horizontally. Once stuck, the character will not stop moving. You can change directions left or right, but either way the character keeps moving forward. It seems to stop once you run into a wall. This never happened during the normal game.
-Landing on the diagonal of blocks can get the character stuck perpetually falling. You can easily move out of it so it's not a big deal, but it's a bigger issue on moving platforms. If you get stuck in one of those, your entire character sprite vanishes.
-After activating the shortcut to the left of Gorgon Tomb 2 by dropping the rock from above, sometimes you will be unable to jump up from below as though the ceiling is still there. Reloading corrects the error.
-After the dark/shadow area in Ruins of Ash, the shadow shader got stuck on the familiar pet. It corrected itself after taking damage, iirc.
-A similar bug occurred on a screen transition, wherein the left half of the screen failed to show up. It was just black - background, sprites, everything.
-Four achievements failed to activate on my game: Vanquisher!, Beast Quest, Beast Hunter, and Beast Knight.
The Switch version is a bit behind because the patching process is very different from the PC ones, but the first patch should arrive soon and should fix most of the issues you encountered.
We'll do our best to find a way to make your save work, but we can't say for sure if that boss manipulation can be reverted.
On the room outside the cyclops cave, if you step off the elevator you can get stuck in some sort of falling/floating state while moving normally. The animation just looks weird, but if you screen transition into the cyclops cave entrance you will softlock in the screen transition.

My copy of the game is up-to-date, but looking farther it seems the hotfixes may not have been pushed out?
Also it seems like the unity crash handler starts every time as well

I tried copying plugins folder from other game (Undermine),
but that didn't work.
Anyway, I found the Secret Music Test Room, and when I touched the floating Eighth Note Icon and the screen switched to the Secret Unlocked/Secrets Menu screen, the game pretty much froze, in the sense that the music still plays, and the secret icons still do their shine effect, but the Music Test text box stopped showing any text at the "Music Test" header and no matter what button I press, I can't exit the screen and have no choice but to restart the game with a hard reset.
Kinda beat since I have to do a mad dash from the Mechanism 2 Lift down to the Mechanism 1 lift, unlock Zeek's room, and then make my way back to the Music Test Secret Room since there's no autosave, which really isn't that big a deal since its a metroidvania after all, but I'm just using this to vent and complain about it since it literally just happened and I'm really missing that autosave haha but again, crashes/freezes or any other reason for a hard reset aside, I'm loving this game so far. I love CitD and had been following the development for Astalon for years, probably since CitD was released and I beat it and wanted more, even after finishing most of the Secrets Menu, though I still haven't unlocked the final secret or beaten the very first demo (that final boss is a pain when all you can do is chip damage haha).
Anyway, keep up the amazing work, and I hope stuff like this isn't common, since there's usually a lot of progress being made between save points when you aren't backtracking or fighting a boss lol Hope Switch gets its patch update soon!
