ISLANDERS
Launch Failure
So the game itself launches, but that's all it does for me. It reaches the screen that says "ISLANDERS" and goes no farther. Sometimes it crashes, with an error that pops up for a fraction of a second that force closes the game. Other times, it just sits there at 1FPS, with a cloudy background jerking across my screen. I've tried launching it about 10 times, tried verifying the files in the steam menu, but it didn't do anything.

Basically, it's unplayable for me. Any known fixes or am I gonna have to request a refund? Don't think my computer is the issue at all here, but I can post specs if needed.

Hey there, so sorry to hear that! Thanks for reporting though, I hope we can figure out a solution. There should be an output_log.txt file located at C:\Users\*YOURUSERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Grizzly Games\ISLANDERS. Can you post its content here or send it to hellogrizzlygames(at)gmail.com? If there's a crashlog file in that folder, it would be super helpful if you could share that too.

Besides that, you can try the following things:

- Make sure all your drivers are up to date. Especially graphics drivers.

- Delete your savegame & settings folder (will wipe your savegame if you had a running game) The folder is located at "C:\Users\*YOURUSERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Grizzly Games" . You might have to enable "show hidden files" in your file browser to see the AppData directory. You can delete the ISLANDERS folder and try restarting the game after that.

- Run the game in Admin mode (somtimes that fixes weird issues)

Feel free to send me a friend request and send me a message if none of the above worked, I'd be happy to try and sort this out via chat! If we can't find a solution, please feel free to get a refund.

Thanks and sorry again for the trouble,
Friedemann

This is happening to me too, exact same problem. Still waiting on a response of any kind.

Just bought the game and had a similar issue. Game launches but just sits at the title screen with super-low FPS. I waited a while - and I mean, a *while* - and it eventually started and I could get to the setting menu, when I found that it was running in SUPER high video mode - like 8x AA and EVERYTHING enabled. That should probably NOT be the default video setting when you first launch the game.

So, I adjust the video setting so that the game actually runs, and start a new game. Okay, WASD to move the camera, cool. Okay, I can drag using left mouse too? Let me try that. Except it doesn't drag, and nothing happens, and you can't even escape or progress. Seriously, guys. I know the game is low-priced, but it need to actually be somewhat functional. This is ridiculous. I've had to ALT-F4 this game like 5 times so far, and I've barely done anything yet. You are getting dangerously close to having your game refunded. This is NOT good.

Okay, after re-starting the game again, it appears to work properly. Game seems to be pretty good too, but the initial impression was quite off-putting.

Hey Vexiom, so sorry this happened but glad to hear you got the game working! :) Could you by any chance send the output_log.txt that's located at C:\Users\*YOURUSERNAME*\AppData\LocalLow\Grizzly Games\ISLANDERS over to hellogrizzlygames(at)gmail(dot)com?

We'd love to take a look at what might have caused these issues. If you send the file, please include a little comment referring to this thread, so we know who we're talking to :)

Thanks an cheers,
Friedemann
