Should you switch to new island immediately or fully build the old island?

Points. If you want score build up the old one as far as you can.

depends to if youre after points, or to get to the later islands quicker.
If youre after points, build as much as you can on each stage, until youre out of buildings, then move to the next island

Just a note - you probably know, but just in case it's been overlooked - for 1 game (or if you're as stupid as me at this sort of thing, lots of games) you do want to go for speed for Island 2 & 3 as they have an achievement each (90 seconds to 2, 4 mins (which I believe includes that 90 seconds, so 150 seconds or 2.5 mins to 3). After that, I agree with going for the points - especially when you get a really nice island! :)
