I would guess that they make weapons stronger, I literally just got the game a few hours ago on the switch, and saw that the eshop has less dlc.

The Weapon-Strengthening Symbols set let the weapons have aura and some buff.

okay I talked to their support and they say that this ugly thing is totally intentional which I personally just think is unfair.

I still don't understand how those weapon-strengthening symbols work. It says set of 8, so is it a permanent buff and aura for each playable character in the base game? Is it possible to get rid of the visual and/or gameplay effect?

Its a set of equipement (weapon symbols). You equip them to have their effect, but you can always make more/different ones.

the symbols are equipment items, it doesn't really matter if you get them from DLC or not

you can make these items fair early game and the aura effects are exclusive to each of them you can't get rid of the aura unless you unequip the symbols. The symbols have a chance to trigger various low elements damage when you use the NORMAL ATTACK and its elemental damage is worthless so it won't affect the game that much, what matters is the carried over traits and you can create better symbols with better traits later.

Which is not the point. Especially since i also went to ask whether or not any future dlc is hit by this to which they just say that they can't say anything, this is not great.

maybe they forgot ? because these items are not important or missable
the encylopedia don't even carry over on new game+ so don't doubt KT's laziness

and 8 aura isn't everything, you get more aura recipes along the game

charisma difficult is what you want
for example the bear monster in "nearby forest" is LV 23 and has 2506 HP on charisma difficult *shrug*
