Many games including Being a ♥♥♥ have Steam cloud saves meaning as you play online your save data is being kept in another location any of your registered computers can access. Acting Lessons along with several other games don't have Steam cloud saves so the only place they are saved is on the PC you saved them two. Steam cloud and other forms of cloud are still relatively new as in you are statistically likely to be older then the tech. Clouds have basically become commonplace so every new game should have steam cloud, but the older you go the fewer games will have it.
In case there was any confusion without cloud or something like it making backups for you the only location of your saves is the ones you directly made. So if you lose where they were for whatever reason they are gone.
In the old days of computer gaming people who wanted to be sure or swap computers made manual backups. Basically create a folder with the relevant name, find the games save files be mindful some games have multiple save files in multiple locations, copy the save files to the folder, put folder on storage device, move folder to where you want the game, get the game in order, put the save files where they where before you did things. As things can still go wrong there are those that recommend creating back ups even for games with cloud save.
Acting lessons has saves and the gallery are in two different locations. The thing is I never bothered too much with Acting lessons saves so I don't know the locations. The reason for that is a key feature of visual novels is skipping over text. Set the right conditions and all you need to get your progress back is making the right path choices. Go into preferences to turn on skip unseen text and if you are sure you won't make a mistake also turn on after choices. You can even scroll back in most visual novels if you made the wrong choice by accident. Use a mouse wheel to roll back or forward. For Acting Lessons up on the mouse wheel is backward. So you can get back to were you where in a visual novel including personalized save points quite quickly.
