Sequel?

I am just wondering if there will be a sequel to Acting Lessons? I absolutely loved the story and would like to see where it could go next. Maybe based off your decisions from the first game?

I'd love to get a sequel. But I don't think it will happen, atleast not for a very long time.
Dr. Pinkcake will be busy with Being a ♥♥♥ for the next 2-3 years.

If you liked Acting lessons and haven't tried Being a ♥♥♥ yet, you should. It's not as dark as AL, but have more options ( minigames ) and even better graphics.

I still think the game settled everything nicely. A sequel is hardly necessary. Maybe a remake that touches of some of the more dated aspects - I mean, Dr Pinkcake has come a long way with his game design since Acting Lessons.

The ending was pretty neat for me. Married Megan and a child on the way. Best friend alive and dating Rena. So not very tragic aside from the death of Melissa.

There are two problems with a sequel as I see it. DPC the author had motivations behind making this how would those be effected by a continuation of the story? Then we have the girls. Right now the status quo between the characters is even how would that be maintained? Megan just became an actress, but it was the end of the story if it continues what would the other girls involved have to do to compete? Another thing going into status quo what happens to Rena with the main character, with Liam, and with that other guy you know the one with the name also the hair cut? In short how does the story continue without diminishing ether the authors intent or players personal choices in this game?

The only option I can think of that might work is the main character's son goes through something similar as the rest of the cast are all somewhere else for whatever reason. Still it is based on if DPC wants to and is able to continue the story we don't know what bits are important to him.

The only way you could get a sequel is if you based it off the little lamb ending.

I would like one but how the heck would you follow it? Best thing we would get is a preqeal that would highlight the events before the game. Not sure if it would be on Megan and Melissa or the MC and Liam. I mean there is a good cross over with Being a ♥♥♥ with all the references of it, such as the HOT cheerleader outfit and bringing up the ♥♥♥ frat.

Being a ♥♥♥ was planned as a prequel for Acting Lessons, but somewhere along the line DPC separated them. Prequels get sticky really fast because of the limitations of a fixed point in the future. In other words a prequel has to be shaped around the original work making sense. All the main cast with the exception of Rena was single at the start of acting lessons, and Rena's boyfriend at the start is probably someone we all don't want to see more of. So if those characters are used in a prequel any relationships they get have to end somehow so they can be single at the start of acting lessons.
