Could use some tooltips

Is it normal that all the items i find build and collect don´t have any description on them. No mouse-over Name or something like that? I found lots of stuff i neitehr know what it is nor what it is used for. A stack of Wooden boxes, Empty Food Cans, Wristwatches, a camera... can i salvage that stuff somehow for Materials?

cans => weapon(lucille), Bonsai plant...
camera (forgot)
check your crafting menu for same pictures :D

btw. hold left button pressed above the item and u get your "tooltips"
