Steam Deck support
I see that its marked playable. Are there any plans for steam deck verification? Also anyone know how playable it is? It looks like performance shouldn't be an issue. Are the steam deck controls any good and how readable is the text in game?

There is some very small text. IMO it’s not a huge deal.

Controls are a little odd but you can tweak them for a workable setup. It does the thing with joystick mouse movement by default, where I think trackpad mouse makes more sense.

Performance is great.

"SteamDeck compatibility: we're rated Playable - some of our text is slightly too small for the max rating atm.

It supports gamepad controls natively, albeit using a gamepad cursor in some contexts.

Runs great and looks great on it."

imo the release version is worse for the deck. For some reason the touch screen is disabled in this version, which locks you to only the button or touchpad inputs. Which is kind of a problem for a game that is grid based and is 90% "click this spot to perform action".

Edit:
I've been able to fix this.
  • Switch to stable build.
  • Run compatibility for Proton Experimental.

Hmm, no touchscreen support is kind of a deal-breaker for me. Would love to play this on my Surface Pro.

It fixes the touch screen support and fixes a lot of the bugs caused by the current default Proton version.

Bugs in general, or bugs in Tactical Breach Wizards?

I don’t generally use the touchscreen, wondering if I’m missing out on something else here. :)

In TBW. Without Experimental, the touch screen was very buggy and had a lot of bad inputs. This might improve responsiveness with normal non-touch controls, I should test that too.

Hi, just wanted to chime in with a Windows-based touchscreen device and say that the game works horribly with touch controls. It's nice that it works with Proton Experimental at least, pity it doesn't for Windows natively.

Trying to play on my Deck for the first time today, how do you get out of the perk screen? Confirm and Reset changes are both greyed out and I don't see anything else on the screen to click other than the character portraits which just swaps between them. I can still pause and bring up the menu.

That sounds like you haven't spent all the perk points you have.

Yeah, it's a shame, there's no proper touchsceen support on Windows tablets. 😑
