I was at the point in the game where I met the chief of my chosen ally to help the humans cross the area and I was told that I needed to help them capture a base first. They "gave" me a litter flare but since my inventory was full during the conversation it was never added to my inventory. This made it so that I had to fast travel to different litter villages until I had found one that had a litter flare in the trader and then had to trade for it to continue this mission. Luckily I found one cause I was about to start the game over.

Hey from the future, you they just give you the blueprint of the litter flare and you have to craft it by yourself.
