DLC Starting Point
To be clear, I am asking about the two original DLCs, Legend of Dead Kel and Teeth of Naros.

I've never played through the DLC when the original was released so I don't know anything about them. I was planning on hitting them up pretty soon, right after finishing Ysa. The reason being that the level scaling system should remove the problem people had of unique items and quest rewards being locked to lower levels in the original, if you did the DLC before you were max level of 40.

Now the zones rescale, so it seems like there is no issue with getting them done earlier. However, I also read something about an NPC that can get crafting materials for you in one of the DLCs, and that *those materials* are potentially locked into whatever level range you were when you picked the quest up, despite the zone rescaling now.

I could be misunderstanding this. I just want to know, if the mats from that NPC will scale with level later on. For example, if I do the entire DLC and finish it at level 30, then go back to that NPC at level 40 for the mats, will they then scale upwards at that point or still be the mats I was getting at level 30?

However i wouldn't recommend to start Dead Kel DLC at low level because some enemies there can be quite strong, at least at high difficulties, and you won't be able to return to locations of main questline until you will reach certain point of DLC storyline.

As i heard some time ago, there can be some problems with rewards after starting Fatesworn because at that point crafting parts from base game will be replaced with new crafting parts, and some effects like damage mitigation will disappear from reward pool. Maybe someone who played recently can correct me if i'm wrong.
