Also, the new "character class biased loot mechanic" seems to not work for me. Most of my set pieces are for other builds.
And i can confirm the loot problem with set pieces from other builds.
Most other items are for your build (If you skill only might, the most items are for might).
But set pieces drop also often from finesse or magic builds. So they seem to be not included at the "character class biased loot mechanic".
Yes, crafting is the better way. But crafting is again a game breaker, because you get way to mighty with it.
But without crafting and the changes of the difficulty scaling (on very hard) the game is really fun. But with crafting you became again godlike and this make the game again boring at my opinion.
The problem is how everything is RNG. An example: I went into a dungeon. I didn't open a single chest until the end. I left the dungeon and saved (loot is still locked upon entering a dungeon and it never changes unless you exit and re-enter.) 1st run: Nothing but greys, money and shards. 2nd run: All blues and some greens. These are two extremes but illustrates why 100% RNG based loot in a game this size is a bad idea.
The game is based on MMO tropes but they forgot one of the better parts of MMO's: how you get loot. What they should have done is made certain sets of armor obtainable as quest rewards. At the end of a quest you get to choose between Might/Finesse/Sorcery piece of gear. They could also make the loot in some dungeons fixed so you always get at least 2 parts of a gear set. Making everything RNG was a bad idea.
Since we have a working save editor, every time I get 5/5 parts of set gear, whether they are from the same set or not, I'm going to swap them out with a full set of gear for my finesse build. Once I do that it's back to 0/5 and the collection starts again. I'll start with the weakest set and work my way up. It's a bit cheaty but at least I will actually get some gear sets instead of looking like a misfit with mismatched gear most of the game.
One thing I did notice, was after completing the Naros DLC, I started seeing purple/gold drops from Naros dropping in the base game areas, but no white/green/blue primal weapons.
What's sad is that a lot of the Armor Sets have cool distinctive looks to them even with some lore text added to them. They really should have incorporated them into quests and buffed their stats if they wanted an alternative to the OP crafting. So you can roleplay as a non-blacksmith character and still be able to get awesome armor sets by completing these quests.
Also, wait, what? There's a save editor? I thought it didn't work for Re-Reckoning? A new one you mean?
Not just the stash inventory sorting. The inventory menus in general are a pain in the ass to navigate through.
Yeah, which is why on my current Very Hard playthrough, I'm doing no blacksmithing, except the skills you get from trainers and skillbooks, just enough to that repairs don't require too many kits. But even then, you can still craft strong items, lol.
Only relying on Sagecrafting and Alchemy has made the game a bit more balanced for me.
Yea, it's a real shame how most players will never see some of those sets because they have bad luck with RNG.

Nice! That's gonna be really helpful. Thanks for letting me know!
Yes! Awesome, thank you! I've been waiting for this to be updated for the remaster because I ran into the "can't sell house of ballads set" bug that happens if you happen to find two sets of the armor during that faction's final quest. Finally, I can remove those four items from my inventory. My OCD shall be satisfied at last.
I COULD replace it with the armor set from the Island DLC, which has better armor, but I really like the look of the Arcane Guild Armor better. Tried crafting better armor but downright hated the generic look of it.
