You should obv buy the remaster version. It has features the original does not. Even if you didnt play it in 4K (major graphic difference texture wise), you still have the FOV slider, cam distance settings, level scaling and better loot (way better) and alot of QOL improvements over the original.
I've decided to purchase Re-Reckoning in the end.
You've all been a HUGE help!
Thanks again <3
'adda boy!
You're not going to regret it, Community manager mentioned that they will patch the game and make more fixes and balance changes when needed, aswell as the new DLC coming out next year.
and 60% off is a bargain.
Plus you cannot get the new dlc with the original game.
The game had it's merits but the area level caps were so terribly under-set that the hardest part of playing the game was trying to not go above the cap.
Wasn't it's ONLY issue, mind you, but this was the deciding one for most players.
IIRC there was even a cheat-table based “mod” for the game that used cheats to make the game harder. It's key feature was reducing exp gains.
As a side note, it's author also recommended staying away from certain game features (parts of crafting system) because of how they affected the looting part of the game. (short version – stuff you could craft at max skills made loot and quest rewards shrivel in shame)
Anyway, this will not magically become the best game ever just by loosing that one scaling flaw, but it will actually become a decent game if it's gone, IMHO.
TLDR: while I can't definitely say whether buying new version is worth it (it might be though), I can definitely tell you that buying the old one is NOT.
Yup since the dlc is out next year might as well wait for discount. Doesnt make sense to pay full price for it
If you wanted on Steam you'd have to go the new version. If you don't want to pay full price, wait til it comes up on a holiday sale. Which I'm sure will happen at some point prior to next year's DLC.
