you get a stash later on. but yeah picking up too much from that chest is a bit of a trap.

personally im not opening the dlc chest until im lvl 15.

Every bit of armor and every weapon in that chest will be basically worthless once you get out of the Dalentarth area and into the other regions like Detyr and the Plains. It helps you out a lot starting out, but don't expect to use it for the whole game. You get your first stash chest and house in Canneroc in Webwood. You could experiment with other weapon types and builds without opening the chest so that you can figure out how you want to play the game and then go get stuff out of the chest and sell off what you don't want or need.

getting the backpacks is part of the game loop. you gains money so you can buy all the packs.

The stash you acquire once you get access to a house was said to be expanded and it was from 155 slots in the original game to 300 now.
Unfortunately for collectors like myself 300 is still FAR from sufficient to collect the loot of the entire game. It should be enough to store all set armors (yellow colored) I think but if you're planning on collecting uniques (purple colored) as well it is vastly insufficient. Just unique weapons alone are in the 100+ easily. Adding armors and accessories I think the stash would need to be around 600+-700+ to be able to store all collectible pieces of equipment in the game. The thing is if memory serves there were issues when you started having too much items (with mods or hex editing) whether it was in your inventory or in your stash. Past a certain number the inventory UI started getting really wonky so I'm guessing there is some kind of engine limit preventing them from increasing it further.

I played the original one and I remember how ¤#% it was at endgame with storage space. So I am refering to that. They could have easily made it larger for us that likes to collect everything xD

I agree, even more so with all the "sets" of armours that you can find, basically a piece here a piece there and a piece who the F knows where lol. So you hang on to pieces waiting for the set. Really need more space and bigger backpacks.

How do we place the items back in the DLC chest? Is there any other way to remove the DLC items from the inventory without having destroy or sell them?

Think i'm going to just restart my game, then do what @EleventhStar said. Just come back to the chest at Lev15. Shouldn't take too long, since it's right at the beginning of the game, smh

Stuff removed from a chest/log/rock pile is permanently removed from it. No putting things back where you got them. You get your first access to your stash in Canneroc in Webwood, so you'll need to sell/destroy items if you run out of room before then.

as far as i can tell, traders hold on to stuff that you sell to them. so you could also sell the things from the dlc chest to a trader, remember who you sold it to, and then come back later to buy it back, should you still want it then. would be a significant financial loss but gold, like in most rpgs, is usually pretty abundant and easy to get. like, i'm just about to move over to lorca rane/the sidhe and already got over 200k gold. and that is after max upgrading my house in canneroc, getting the backpack, and all that kinda stuff.
